Strong Environmental Ethos Pays Dividends
12th February 2008
Vicarage Field Shopping Centre has recently announced the strong progress that the town centre shopping scheme is making towards reducing its environmental impact.
In the past 24 months 98.12 tonnes of card have gone for reprocessing, that would otherwise have gone to landfill. In turn, this has removed from the road 18 HGV journeys of about 50 miles, reducing the CO2 emissions attributable to the centre by 1,797kg; equivalent to more than 10,000 miles of emissions for a family car!
The purchase of additional baling equipment to process and prepare plastics for recycling is now on site and will make a further positive impact and the centre’s carbon footprint.

Just 10% of the cardboard that Vicarage Field recycled last year!
